Wellness Care

Regular physical examinations are critical for early detection and correction of medical problems as well as behavior changes.  Puppies and kittens should be examined several times during the first six months of life when rapid physical changes are occurring.

Adult dogs and cats should be examined annually, with testing for parasites.

Senior pets over 7 years of age should be examined at least every 6 months, with more frequent evaluations for pets with medical conditions or chronic medications.  Complete blood profiling for early detection of conditions such as diabetes, liver or kidney disease is done annually or more frequently if abnormalities are present.

Senior Wellness Care

Senior pets are cats and dogs who are seven or more years old.

Aging in pets occurs at a more rapid pace than in humans, and brings with it some common conditions.  Arthritis, dental disease, kidney, liver and heart disease as well as changes in senses like hearing and sight can be diagnosed earlier and treated more successfully when senior pets are evaluated every 6 months.

Comprehensive physical examinations, complete blood counts, blood chemistry analysis, urine analysis and imaging such as radiographs or ultrasound are utilized to thoroughly evaluate senior pets and manage medical conditions.
